The Process



Creating an individual biography is an enjoyable and uplifting process. Whether the subject to be interviewed is you, a parent or a loved one the experience will be in itself a memory enjoyed by everyone who chooses to be involved.

A preliminary meeting will be scheduled with a small group of family members and friends to develop the interview process and provide an understanding of the events to be covered in the biography. We recommend the subject to be interviewed not be present during this meeting in order to preserve a fresh response during the filming.

Information will be gathered from friends and family members who have been chosen to provide background information for the creation of the interview. This is achieved through the use of an in depth questionnaire and often followed up with brief phone conversations or personal meetings if needed.

The filming of the interview will usually take place in the subject’s home however may be conducted in other suitable places if so desired.

Using professional state of the art camera, audio and lighting the filming is a process that generally takes two to three hours. David Hinshaw has been conducting interviews for many years and is truly a master of his craft, making this a very enjoyable and relaxing experience.

Editing is performed by Storybook Media under the direction of David Hinshaw and generally requires up to two weeks time depending on the complexity of the production. Personal photographs are incorporated to enhance the story and chaptered sections are created. Appropriate music and video clips may be added. The final product is presented on DVD in bookcase quality cases with customized graphics.
